You will provide specific support to the Clinical Service Coordinator in the leadership of nurses within the Private Ward of the Mount Gambier Hospital. Overseeing the provision of nursing care within the team, you will assess patients’ needs and plan, implement and coordinate appropriate service delivery options whilst communicating changes in condition and care. This will be achieved by integrating advanced theoretical knowledge, evidence from a range of sources and your own experience to devise and achieve agreed patient care outcomes. Monitoring patient care plans, you will participate in clinical auditing and evaluative research to ensure appropriate patient care outcomes are achieved on a daily basis. Supporting and working collaboratively with less experienced members of the nursing team, you will maintain a learning culture by encouraging professional development and assisting others to maintain portfolios of learning. This role presents an ability to practice at an expert level, within a larger supportive working team. Mount Gambier has the largest regional general hospital in South Australia and offers an excellent regional nursing professional development program.
You will be registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia, and hold or be eligible to hold a current practicing certificate. With prior experience in management and leadership roles, you will be capable of giving supervision to student nurses, enrolled nurses and less experienced registered nurses. You will use your effective communication, problem solving, conflict resolution and negotiation skills to maintain a cohesive multidisciplinary team and resolve local or immediate nursing care problems.
Appointment will be subject to a satisfactory Criminal History Check.
