Therefore, under an approved Special Measures Plan, Indigenous applicants will be given priority selection, provided that they meet all essential selection criteria and are suitable at the level commensurate with the position.Primary Objective Provide engineering expertise on Power and Water’s expanding SCADA and Telecommunications Operational Technology networks and the equipment it connects. Include designing, specifying, configuring, commissioning and fault finding on a range of protection, Industrial Ethernet and Telecommunications network equipment.Key Responsibilities1. Provide high level engineering and technical advice on a range of SCADA and Telecommunications equipment2. Participate in an on call roster to provide after-hours fault finding and on-site technical support as required once the necessary training and on the job learning has been achieved3. To carry out physical installation, configuration, commissioning, test and provide ongoing support across the network4. Develop work instructions, procedures and technical records required for the efficient operation of the workgroup.5. Carry out duties in accordance with Power and Water’s safety, environmental and quality policy, safety principles, corporate values and strategies. Selection criteria – Essential1. Scientific or Engineering degree recognised for Professional Membership with Engineer Australia.2. Demonstrated ability to work effectively and diligently as an individual and team member to resolve complex faults on critical equipment.3. An understanding of electrical transmission/distributions systems and a solid understanding of electrical engineering fundamentals4. Experience in the installation and maintenance of telecommunications/SCADA systems which may include fibre optic, microwave radio, RTU, UHF radio and ancillary systems5. Manual Driver’s licence.Selection criteria – Desirable1. Knowledge of data communications protocols, networking equipment and computer operating systems such as Windows, including Cisco or Microsoft certified qualifications.2. Knowledge of SCADA, control systems and communications equipment as applicable to generation and distribution of power.Further information1.
