The Department of Human Services’ (DHS) Welfare Payment Infrastructure Transformation (WPIT) Programme announced by the Government in April 2015 is a business-led transformation that is underpinned by one of the largest infrastructure platforms in Australia. Redeveloping the welfare payments system will require a fundamental business and process transformation, together with the core system replacement involving multiple layers of complexity and scale. This significant business-led transformation programme will provide Australia with a welfare payments system that is modern, flexible and efficient.
The National Manager, Project Delivery is responsible for leading and maintaining the Integrated Programme Office for the WPIT Programme, and driving the WPIT schedule and release coordination. The National Manager is also responsible for leading integrated planning, ensuring practical implementation and leading the delivery of projects.
Suitable candidates will have exceptional capabilities and demonstrated experience in leading large-scale, complex programmes and their component projects. They will have significant experience in driving delivery approaches and standards (Waterfall and Agile), and leading implementation tracking, reporting and metrics.
The suitable candidate will have extensive leadership and expertise in the management and delivery of complex programmes and projects. A demonstrated track record in programme and project management is highly desirable.
This role will report to the General Manager, Programme Delivery and is based in Melbourne.
A merit pool may be established to fill other similar roles as they become available within the following 12 month period.
