The Shire of Wiluna is a district comprising 182,156 square kilometres of predominantly desert and pastoral country which is situated deep in the beautiful but rugged the Murchison goldfields subregion of the boom state of Western Australia. As one of the more isolated local governments in the State, the Shire faces unique challenges and opportunities.
About the Opportunity
The Shire of Wiluna now has an opportunity for a Project Manager to join their team in Wiluna, WA. This is a casual full-time role, carrying out a 6-8 month project, with the opportunity to oversee further projects in the future.
Reporting to the CEO, your main responsibility will be to manage the day to day activities of the project, ensuring work is delivered on time and within budget.
The successful candidate will have demonstrated transferable project management skills, including project planning and coordination. Candidates with experience in the building and construction sector will be held in high regard, though this is not essential to the role. In addition, you must have strong verbal and written communication skills, especially with regard to technical writing.
Due to nature of the role, its crucial you have excellent time management skills as well as the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines. This role will suit an individual with highly developed interpersonal and negotiation skills, with the ability to work autonomously as well as part of a team, and as such, it’s important you have the ability to share knowledge and technical skills with others.
Competency in the use of computer programs, particularly the use of the Microsoft Office suite, will be required.
Please note: A National Police Clearance, current Medical Certificate and current “C” Class Driver Licence are requirements of this role.
