Over the past few decades our Market Leading Industrial Automation client has been highly successful in securing major projects within the Oil & Gas and Power Generation sectors, currently turning over in excess of $300m across Australia and New Zealand employing over 250 people. They help organisations improve the efficiency of their key operations through products, software and services related to the collection, measurement, control, communication and analysis of information.

Your Role
Based out of their Darwin office, the Senior Control Systems Engineer will provide their expertise locally within the Northern Territory area.

Your Responsibilities

  • Mainly DCS, in addition to SIS, Hardware, Network, MES, OPC, Database or SCADA Systems
  • Delivery of the project in accordance with the schedule, standards and quality requirements, maintenance and support of the Control System
  • Reporting to a Service Manager, coordinate and conduct relevant service activities to ensure activities are executed in a safe, efficient, cost effective and timely manner to customer’s specifications
  • Provide direction to engineering staff on design and implementation processes
  • Assist in the understanding and translation of client design requirements and the development of function design specifications
  • Facilitate decisions and resolve project issues with the project and operations members. Identify project risks and provide direction for the mitigation of these risks. Supervise the design, implementation and testing of the process control configuration for Yokogawa control systems
  • Ensure the project conforms to the client’s approved Basis of Design and all applicable regulatory and code requirements
  • Mentoring younger engineers in the development of their professional skills in the relevant areas of controls systems design and implementation

Your background

  1. Bachelor’s degree in either electrical, mechatronics, instrumentation, or chemical engineering
  2. 5-10 years’ experience working in the process control industry
  3. 3-5 years’ experience using Yokogawa Centum VP and Prosafe RS hardware and software
  4. Prior experience working on Oil and Gas sites with exposure to EEHA
  5. Must have exposure to working within a Facilities Engineering and Operations Team
  6. Experience in the configuration and maintenance of Windows IT infrastructure, complex networks, network management and backup systems
  7. High degree of LNG projects experience
