For further Meritinformation: click hereSpecial Measures Not applicable to this vacancy.Apply Online Link Primary Objective: A Senior WorkSafe Officer is responsible for providing specialist advice and support services to internal and external stakeholders in accordance with the legislation administered by NT WorkSafe and perform the functions and exercise the powers of an Inspector in accordance with legislation administered by NT WorkSafe as delegated.Key Duties and Responsibilities: 1. Provide accurate advice to stakeholders regarding licence applications, renewals, permits and accreditations and other permissioning systems established by legislation and administered by NT WorkSafe.2. Respond to requests for information and support government, industry and the public on work health and safety issues, preventative strategies and legislative obligations.3. Provide first response to accident/incident reports and complaints and conduct triage assessment.4. Research and analyse information and provide advice and assistance to stakeholders on preventative policies and legislative obligations. 5. Represent the division in formal tripartite consultative processes with a focus on achieving fair and reasonable performance based work health and safety outcomes. 6. Mentor and assist the professional development of the Advisory Officers on matters pertaining to their duties.7. Conduct investigations and audits to ensure compliance of licensing and registration functions.Selection Criteria: Essential1. High level communication and negotiation skills to clearly articulate messages appropriately to a wide variety of audiences. 2. Extensive knowledge and experience interpreting legislation.3. Proven experience in undertaking audits and/or investigations in a regulatory environment or other relevant administrative experience.4. Well-developed interpersonal skills, with the ability to form sound and trusting relationships with stakeholders.5. Demonstrated ability to complete tasks and meet deadlines with high level attention to detail.6. Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team, to attain and share new skills and to contribute to the overall achievement of the unit.Desirable1. Previous experience within a regulatory agency in Work Health and Safety or allied field2.
