You will be responsible for the management of the Whyalla Community Mental Health Rehabilitation Service (CMHRS), leading a consumer and carer oriented service within a recovery framework. Leading and managing the activities of the multidisciplinary team in a rehabilitation model, you will oversee practices and procedures, management of human resources in matters including recruitment, performance management and supporting the training and professional development of clinical staff across Nursing, Allied Health and Administration staff. You will also be responsible for the management and prioritisation of departmental resources, ensuring that services across the continuum of care are provided to meet consumer care needs as well as ensuring services are provided to consumers within the community setting. You may also be required to provide consultancy and strategic advice to other mental health services, general health services and non-government organisations (NGOs) on rehabilitation services. You will be required to work across a range of environments and larger community to provide a coordinated approach to rehabilitation and care while supporting the development of the consumer’s rehabilitation in partnership with their existing formal and informal networks.
For appointment at the AHP3 level, you will hold a recognised qualification within the Social Work, Occupational Therapy or Psychology professions and fulfill all requirements to obtain and maintain current registration with the relevant professional association. For appointment at the RN3 level, you will be registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia, and hold a current practicing certificate and a qualification in Mental Health practice. With demonstrated experience in working with mental health consumers and carers in a recovery oriented framework, you will bring sound leadership and organisational skills to the role.
