Management Accountant job in Darwin. $90k – $110k.
Your new company
This is a large, leading research, education and training institution in Darwin. As a Management Accountant you will provide accurate and timely financial information and support management to enable informed decision making and assist in ensuring all projects and initiatives positively contribute to the organisation’s Key Strategic Areas.
Your new role
As a qualified Accountant, you will promote sound financial management to enable good decision-making that will ensure financial sustainability. You will ensure all statutory and regulatory returns are compiled accurately, efficiently, and on time, leading to clean audits, and you will provide high quality and innovative financial and organisational solutions for services, products, and programs.
You will provide high quality management reporting, planning and budgeting frameworks; ensuring world class systems, relevant bench-marking information, high quality training, and excellent financial analysis; as well as managing a world class treasury function. You will contribute to the forming of strategies by fully contributing to the strategic planning process; collating data, analysing and reporting to management; preparation of business plans and budgets; forecasts and costings; and so on. You will be responsible for month end financial analysis (operating and capital), explaining significant budget variances and monitoring and reporting on Group capital expenditure ensuring correct accounting treatment of assets.
What you’ll need to succeed
To succeed, you will have a Degree in Finance and/or Accounting or extensive relevant experience. You will ideally hold full CPA or CA status or be working towards this.
You should have extensive experience in budget development, financial reporting and demonstrated ability to communicate financial information and engage with clients in an operational context. You will have good understanding of management accounting and financial modelling, Australian Accounting Standards and the Australian taxation system.
Extensive experience in the use of Oracle is a strong advantage.
